Our client, Butlins, gave a rising British fashion designer the challenge of breathing new life into it’s famous Redcoat uniform, giving a fashion edge to the iconic British seaside uniforms.
Rising British fashion star Hannah Clayton has designed for Lady Gaga and been earmarked as one to watch by Italian Vogue - but now she has taken on her toughest challenge yet by revamping one of the most famous uniforms in the world - the Butlins Redcoats. Hannah was asked to take on the brief because Butlins wanted a young, talented designer who could relate to the Redcoats.
Grimsby-born Hannah, 25, said: “Having spent time with the Redcoats in Bognor Regis I was able to fully understand the importance of their role, the physical demands of the job, and how essential it is that they look and feel the part. I’m passionate about creating clothing that is aesthetically very appealing whilst remaining functional. Working on this project has allowed me to do just that.
We handled the launch of the new look - from running the shoot to unveiling the new uniforms to the media, resulting in widespread coverage by the likes of The Sun, Daily Mail and Huffington Post
